Rapist Gurmeet Ram Rahim Seeks Bail; High Court Questions Law & Order in Sirsa

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving life sentence for raping female disciples, has approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking bail. Taking up his plea, the High Court has asked the Haryana government to clarify about the law and order condition in Sirsa.

Sources have revealed that Gurmeet Ram Rahim has sought bail for two weeks. He has said in the petition that he has adopted a girl and she is getting married on May 10, so she wants him to get out of jail to arrange her marriage.

It is pertinent to note here that Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s petition could also be the result of some kind of secret deal with an influential political party amid parliamentary elections. Although, his cult has still not openly announced to support any political party but it can’t be ignored that the Sirsa cult has a special political wing to crack beneficiary deals with political parties.
