CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Interacting with the media on April 18, Bhai Sukhraj Singh and Bapu Sadhu Singh (kin of the Behbal Klan victims) stated that the SIT member IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh has been sidelined under a highly deliberated policy to save the perpetrators of Behbal Klan and Kotkapura firing incidents. They apprehended that the rest SIT members may manipulate the chargesheet to be filed against the killer police cops in Faridkot Court in the absence of IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh.
“The investigation of the Behbal Klan and Kotkapura firing incidents was going in right direction during the presence of IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh in the Special Investigation Team and it was likely to make major revelations but the Election Commission reversed the situation on a frivolous compliant,” they added.
The duo kin of Behbal Klan victims appealed the Election Commission of India to reinstate IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh as a SIT member while adding that the EC may ask him to refrain from appearing before the media.
On being questioned about their stand in the upcoming parliamentary polls, the duo kin said that they won’t support any particular political party, but they would definitely appeal the Punjab masses to not vote for those involved in these firing and sacrilege incidents.
After taking up the issue with the Election Commission in Punjab last week, they have now written a fresh mail to Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, seeking his intervention.
