CHANDIGARH, Punjab—While refusing straightforwardly to step-back from the Parliamentary poll fray in Khadoor Sahib, the SAD (Taksali) candidate Gen. JJ Singh (Retd.) has alleged that the Punjab Ekta Party’s chief Sukhpal Khaira was using Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra’s name to collect funds for his party.
Claiming himself being a Panthik face, Gen. JJ Singh (Retd) said that his candidature was announced two days before the candidature of Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra. “I got a call from Sukhpal Khaira asking me to pull out of the race,” he claimed.
It is pertinent to note here that the SAD (Taksali) leaders also dissent over the candidature of Gen JJ Singh (Retd) against Bibi Paramjit Kaur. The SAD (Taksali) leaders Sewa Singh Sekhwan and Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad have openly endorsed the removal of Gen JJ Singh’s candidature from Khaldoor sahib keeping in view the sacrifice of Khalra family while the SAD (Taksali) leader Ranjit Singh Brahmpura has categorically refused to pull out Gen JJ Singh (retd) from the race.
