SGPC’s Annual Budget 2019-20: Special Provisions Kept for 550th Birthday Celebrations

:dateline:The annual budget of the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee worth Rupees 12.05 billion for the next financial year 2019-20 was today passed in its general house meeting held at Teja Singh Samundari Hall. SGPC�s General Secretary S. Gurbachan Singh Karmuwala presented the budget and all the SGPC members endorsed the budget�s preferences by enchanting the Sikh ovation.

Elaborating the budget details to the media, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal informed that this year�s budget has been commemorated to the upcoming 550th birthday celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He added that the SGPC has kept a provision of Rupees 126.3 million to spend on the functions to be organized in November during the birthday celebrations. �We will spend a major portion of Dharam Prachar Committee�s funds to celebrate the 550th birthday anniversary internationally,� he added.

Other major allocations made in the budget are as follow:

  1. Rupees 725 million for the general board funds
  2. Rupees 506 million for trust funds
  3. Rupees 374 million for education funds
  4. Rupees 76.5 million for Printing Presses
  5. Rupees 840 million for Dharam Prachar Committee
  6. Rupees 7.15 billion for managing the Section-85 Sikh shrines
  7. Rupees 133.6 million for the Sikh shrines with direct and attached management Sikh shrines
  8. Rupees 2.38 billion for the SGPC run Educational Institutions
  9. Rupees 145 million for helping the Sikligar Sikhs and students, and Gurdwara Sahibans of other states
  10. Rupees 192 million for religious examinations, competitions and correspondence courses
  11. Rupees 6 million for the annual Khalsa Sports Meet
  12. Rupees 10 million for honoring the Sikh players
  13. Rupees 20 million for helping the Dharmi Faujis and their families
  14. Rupees 80 million for Sikh missions
  15. Rupees 7 million for the research on Sikh history and its printing
  16. Rupees 7 million for helping the victims of natural disasters
