IG Paramraj Umranangal Sent to Patiala Jail for 14 Days

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Notorious IG Paramraj Umranangal, who was arrested by the Special Investigation Team in Kotkapura and Behbal Klan firing cases on February 18, was today presented before the Faridkot Court after a week-long police remand. The Court ordered to send him to Patiala jail for the next 14 days.

It is pertinent to note here that the former Punjab DGP Sumedh Saini has confessed before the SIT that he had sent IG Paramraj Umranangal at Kotkapura along with thousands of Police cops from five districts.

Earlier, the SIT had told the media that IG Paramraj Umranangal had incited the Punjab police cops to open firing on peacefully protesting Sikhs at Kotkapura.

“During investigation, it came to light that IG Paramraj Umranangal was commanding everything and force in strength had gone there (the spot where protesters were sitting) from Ludhiana. He was managing everything,” IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh had said after arresting Umranangal.
