CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The 337th birth anniversary of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji was celebrated with full religious enthusiasm and devotion at the holiest Sikh shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib today. Thousands of Sikh devotees thronged into the sanctum sanctorum Sri Harmandir Sahib to receive blessings of Guru Sahib.
Following the culmination of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Head Granthi Giani Jagtar Singh and Singh Sahib Giani Mann Singh addressed the religious discourse to the present Sikh attendees and encouraged them to take inspiration from the life of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji.
Renowned Raagis, Dhadis, Kavishars, preachers and Panthik poets also addressed the religious discourse to the Sikh sangat.
An Amrit Sanchaar program was also held on this occasion in which 202 persons got baptized. Similarly, 300 units of blood were received in a blood donation camp on this occasion.
Yesterday, a religious procession was taken out which commenced from Sri Akal Takht Sahib and concluded at Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj while passing through Chowk Ghantaghar, Jallianwala Bagh, Lakkar Mandi Bazaar, Sultanwind Gate, Paani Wali Tanki, Swarn House, Golden Cloth Market, Sultanwind Road, Tej Nagar Chowk, Bazaar Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar, Bazaar Kot Mahna Singh and Tarn Taran Road.
