The Name of the Divine is dearer to me than mind, body and wealth, because in the end, it is one’s only help and support. -Guru Nanak Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib, 1042

Message: We treasure our body and mind (thoughts). Above all, we treasure and protect our wealth. The Guru says that the greatest treasure of all is the Naam of the Divine which is dearest of them all. Only Naam will provide you with the support till the end of life.

As true devotees, we need to adore and devote our mind and body to the love of the Divine, and not place any value on material wealth.

Etymology: From Sanskrit priyakaar (agreeable, doing a kindness) → Apabhransh piyaarya (dear) → Sindhi piaaro and Lahndi/Punjabi piaaraa (dear).
