Peer Mohammad Joins Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali)

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad, the former president of All India Sikh Students Federation, today joined Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) headed by veteran Akali leader Ranjit Singh Brahmpura. Trio rebel Akali leaders Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Rattan Singh Ajnala and Sewa Singh Sekhwan officially taken him into party fold by organizing a press conference at Chandigarh.

Addressing the media on this occasion, Peer Mohammad said that he will work for the Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) as a common worker and will keep on doing his minute part for the high spirit of Sikh Panth like a sparrow spraying water on the forest under fire with her beak. On being questioned whether the AISSF has been dissolved, Peer Mohammad replied that he has resigned from the AISSF but the student body stands intact as earlier. “We will now work hard to reorganize the AISSF in schools and colleges” he added.

In reply to a media query about Peer Mohammad’s close alliance with Sikhs for Justice’s “Referendum 2020” campaign, Sewa Singh Sekhwan clarified that Peer Mohammad is now a part of SAD (Taksali) and now he would have to abide by the party’s constitution.

Sewa Singh Sekhwan further said that the “All India Gurdwara Act” couldn’t become a reality due to opposition by the SAD (Badal) patriarch Parkash Badal. He added that the SAD (Taksali) will begin efforts to turn the “All India Gurdwara Act” into a reality.
