Commemorative Coin of Rupees 350 Released on Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Birthday

NEW DELHI, India—The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released a coin of Rupees 350 commemorated to the 352nd birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji in an event organized at his residence in New Delhi. Several Sikh dignitaries including the former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, the SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal, Union State Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Akali parliamentarians Prem Singh Chandumajra and Balwinder Singh Bhoondarh etc. were also present on this occasion.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Modi said that the tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a great warrior, philosopher, poet and guru. “He fought against oppression and injustice. His teachings to people focused on breaking the barriers of religion and caste. His message of love, peace and sacrifice are equally relevant today,” he added.
