Dr. Mimpal Singh becomes first Sikh to be deployed as an Assistant Professor in a Medical University of Pakistan

LAHORE, Punjab—Dr. Mimpal Singh, the first Sikh doctor of Pakistan, has been appointed as an assistant professor in the Pediatrics wing of the Pakistan’s Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department. Notably, Dr. Mimpal Singh had also made the entire Sikh community feel proud by topping the DCH (Diploma in Child Health) examination conducted by the Service Institute of Medical Science.

Sharing the development with Sikh24, Prof. Kalyan Singh Kalyan informed that Dr. Mimpal Singh has been deployed at the King Edward Medical University of Lahore (Punjab). He added that the Dr. Mimpal Singh has become a first Sikh of Pakistan who has been appointed as an assistant professor in a Medical University of Pakistan.     

Earlier, Dr. Mimpal Singh worked as a Consultant Pediatrician & Neonatologist (Child Specialist) and Registrar Pediatrics Medical Ward at Mayo Hospital in Lahore. He also runs his private clinic named “Sardar Ji Child Health Clinic” in the vicinity of Shad Bagh, Lahore.
