Don’t Hold Panchayati Elections During Last Week Of December, SGPC Asks Punjab CM

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has asked the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh for not holding the Panchayati elections in Punjab during the last week of December month. He has said that the last of week of December every year refresh the martyrdom of Chaar Sahibzaades and Mata Gujar Kaur Ji in Sikh psyche.

In a letter written to the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, Longowal has said that everyone was aware of the fact that how harsh turns the environment of Punjab during the Panchayati elections in Punjab. “Keeping in view the sentiments of Sikh community, we request you to shift the date of Panchayati elections from last week of December” he wrote to Captain.
