Police Raids on Houses of Sikh Youths during Wee Hours; Two Arrested, Others Asked to Appear

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—At the crack of dawn today, the Punjab police teams conducted raids at the houses of Sikh youth activists across Punjab. The Police teams took away those who were present in their homes while the other ones have been asked to appear before the Police headquarters of their corresponding Police constituencies.

Senior Vice President of Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala Bhai Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal told Sikh24 that the Police team raided at his home during the wee hours today. He added that he was not present at home during the raid so the police cops asked his family members to produce him at Police staff’s special branch near Crystal cross road of Amritsar Sahib.  

Sikh24 has learnt that the police teams also conducted raids at the homes of several other Sikh activists including Sikh Youth of Punjab’s president Bhai Paramjit Singh Mand, Jatha Himmat-e-Khalsa’s Bhai Paramjit Singh Akali, Sikh activists Bhai Bhupinder Singh and Giani Simranjit Singh Mann etc. SYFB’s Daljit Singh Bobby (Gurdaspur) and Dal Khalsa’s Gurjant Singh are learnt to have arrested by the police.

Meanwhile, it has come to fore that the Punjab police teams have targeted Sikh activists in relation to recent bomb blast occurred in a “Niranakari” cult’s outlet in Amritsar on November 18. The targeted Sikh activists are being questioned about their whereabouts during the past few days.
