Triple Storey Building of Gurdwara Sahib Collapses in Rajasthan; 4 Die, 2 Battling for Life

HANUMANGARH, Rajasthan—An under-construction building of a Gurdwara Sahib in the semi-urban locality of Nohar (District Hanumangarh, Rajasthan) reportedly collapsed down during the wee hours of November 18. Four among the six volunteer workers resting in this building lost lives while two others got seriously injured.

Sources have informed that the entire construction work of this three-storey building of Gurdwara Sahib was almost completed except the dome. It is learnt that the building was erected without steel using a different ancient technology with the help of sand named Baalu.

Residents of the neighboring dhani (cluster of houses) woke up to a thunderous sound as a part of the building collapsed down at around 2.30 am. At least six devotees were in the room that collapsed.

Hundreds of people immediately rushed to the spot and recovered the dead bodies of the victim Sikhs from the debris using four JCB machines. The district administration reached to the spot of incident at the crack of dawn.

“Around 7.30 am, all victims were extricated, but two of them had already died. Two others died while being taken to the Civil Hospital” informed a government official.

Sikh24 has learnt that an inquiry in this concern has been ordered by the district administration.

Names of the deceased volunteer Sikhs are as follow:

  1. Mohinder Singh (Age: 65 years, Residence: Ellenabad)
  2. Avtar Singh (Age: 28 years, Residence: Village Mamera)
  3. Jagga Singh (Age: 27 years, Residence: Village Thandewala of Rai Singh Nagar)
  4. Jagtar Singh (Age: 27 years, Residence: Village Thandewala of Rai Singh Nagar)

Two seriously injured victims have been identified as Balwinder Singh and Darbara Singh who are still battling for life.
