Amritsar Train Tragedy: SGPC Announces Free of Cost Medical Treatment to Injured People

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Extending condolences to the aggrieved families of Dussehra watchers mowed down under train on October 19, the SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has said that the SGPC will provide free ailment to the injured victims. He has sought a strict action against the elements responsible for this tragedy.

SGPC’s Chief Secretary Dr. Roop Singh told the media that special arrangements have been made to provide ailment to the injured people at Sri Guru Ram Dass Charitable Hospital, Vallah. He added that the SGPC will bear all the expenditure of ailment provided to the injured peoples.

It may be recalled here that scores of Dussehra watchers were mowed down by a train in Amritsar Sahib resulting 61 causalities yesterday. Around 70 got injured out of which seven are said to be in critical condition.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that a team Khalsa Aid reached on ground zero to help the Amritsar administration in carrying out relief operations. Beside it, ambulances were also sent by the SGPC during this unfortunate time.
