Murderers of Peshawari Sikh Leader Given Bail by Peshawar High Court

PESHAWAR, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan—Tariq and Shehryar, the suspected murderers of Peshawar based Sikh leader S. Charnjeet Singh, were reportedly granted bail by the Peshawar High Court on September 24. Notably, the Peshawar based Human rights activist S. Charnjeet Singh was shot dead by unidentified assailants inside his shop situated in the Scheme Chowk area on Kohat Road (Peshawar) on May 29 this year.

Sikh24 has learnt that the duo murderers succeeded in getting bail from the Peshawar High Court taking benefit of Police’s failure in presenting solid evidence against them. Also, the absence of any statement against the arrested murder suspects by the victim family helped them in making their claims robust for bail before the Court.

It may be recalled here that the duo murder suspects Shehryar and Tariq were arrested by the Peshawar police on June 14 and June 21 respectively. The Peshawar High Court granted bail to the duo murderers against a security bond of Rupees 3,00,000/- each.
