CHANDIGARH—After getting exposed by the Justice Ranjit Singh led Investigation Commission, the Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal came across a major embarrassment on September 5 when hundreds of Sikh activists assembled together in front of the SAD’s meeting venue in Faridkot. The Sikh activists had come there to stage protest against Sukhbir Badal for his involvement in shielding the sacrilege culprits and ordering fire on peacefully protesting Sikhs at Kotkapura.
As per media reports, a scuffle took place between the Sikh activists and the supporters of Sukhbir Badal. Interestingly, all the supporters of Sukhbir Badal, who heads the Shiromani Akali Dal, having trimmed hairs and beards were carrying sharp edged weapons while on the other side Sikh activists costumed in traditional dresses were staging protest against Sukhbir Badal were carrying sticks.
Although the Sikh activists were adamant to not let Sukhbir Badal enter into the city, but the police cops deployed there dispersed the Sikh protesters and provided a high level security shield to Sukhbir Badal to address his party’s meeting.
