BREAKING: Monetary Deal Led Akal Takht Jathedar Pardon Gurmeet Ram Rahim

Bollywood Actor Facilitated Pardon and Monetary Deal between Sukhbir Badal and Cult Leaders

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Reliable sources within the Punjab government have brought to fore a shocking revelation made by the Justice Ranjit Singh led Investigation Commission in the first part of  its report submitted to the Punjab government on June 30. Sikh24 has learnt that there was a monetary deal between the Sukhbir Badal led Shiromani Akali Dal and Sirsa cult for facilitating pardon to the cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim from Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

It has come to fore that the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission came across a testimonial letter by Harbans Singh Jalal who told the Commission about a meeting that took place between the Bollywood actor (Akshay Kumar), a senior Punjab politician (Sukhbir Badal) and Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim.

As per information that has been availed, the meeting took place at Akshay Kumar’s home in Mumbai, where he compelled the Punjab Government to release the movie as it was “expected to do business of Rupees 3 billion”. Akhay Kumar has been part of several controversies related to the Sikh community, mainly due to his role in anti-Sikh movies. His movie “Singh is King” faced worldwide boycott by the Sikh community as it mocked the Sikh identity.

Sikh24 was further told that during the meeting, Sirsa Cult leaders provided monetary support to the Shiromani Akali Dal; however, since these funds were not paid, the pardon to the cult leader was withdrawn.

The letter was not included in the Commission report as Justice Ranjit Singh could not verify its validity at that time. However, he has now recommend the letter to revisited in the light of recent revelations about the involvement of Sirsa cult disciples in various beadbi incidents.

The Commission asserted the theft of a holy corpus of Sri Guru Granth Sahib took place on June 1, 2015, and “Messenger of God” was released all over India on September 18, 2015. It could not hit the silver screen in Punjab because of an edict against the Sirsa cult chief by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

The panel reportedly added that the Akal Takht Jathedar, out of the blue, on September 24, 2015, granted pardon to the Sirsa cult chief against the edict of boycott, paving the way for his film’s release on the same day. Another thing happened that day. A poster, carrying derogatory language and warning of sacrilege if the movie was not released, was pasted at Bargari.

Justice Ranjit Singh Commission was set up in April 2017 by the Captain Amarinder led Congress government to investigate the various incidents of sacrilege of the holy Guru Granth Sahib and other religious texts, after rejecting as inconclusive the findings of the Zora Singh Commission set up by the erstwhile Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.
