Peshawari Sikh Students Appear in Annual Religious Examination

PESHAWAR, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan—The students of Guru Angad Dev Ji Khalsa Religious School and Bhai Joga Singh Khalsa Religious School appeared in annual examination of about Gurbani and Sikh history during past days. Notably, these religious schools have been offering education to the students about Sikh religion for the last 36 years.

At present around 850 students are taking education about Sikh religion in these schools from 15 teachers working under the direction of a Principal. Sources have informed that the children of Peshawari Sikh families study in English medium schools and they attend the classes about Gurbani, Kirtan and Sikh history after coming back from their schools.

Sharing the development with Sikh24, S. Balbir Singh informed the students studying in these religious schools are expert in Kirtan besides learning of Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Chaupai Sahib, Anand Sahib, Rehraas Sahib, Kirtan Sohila and Sukhmani Sahib.

Baba Gurpal Singh informed that the students hailing from poor families are being facilitated with books, copies and stationary free of cost.
