Citing the Sikh code of conduct, Longowal has said that the concept of ‘langar’ inside Sikh shrines is related to ‘Pangat’ and even the Mughal emperor Akbar had partook ‘langar’ at Sri Goindwal Sahib by sitting in ‘Pangat’. He has suggested the concerned Gurdwara Committee members to understand the religious, social and spiritual aspects of ‘langar’ than just taking it as a way to satisfy the hunger of stomach.
