FARIDKOT—A video of a prisoner named Gobind Singh, who is imprisoned in the Faridkot jail, has gone viral over social media in which he could be seen torpedoing the claims of Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh about ending Drug menace in the state. In his 2.48 minute long video, he has revealed that every type of drug was being made available even to the prisoners in Faridkot jail.
“Captain Amarinder Singh had held the Gutka Sahib close to his head at a public rally, promising to eradicate drugs within four weeks of assuming charge; but drugs are abundantly available in every nook and corner of the state even now when he has completed more than a year in office” says prisoner Gobind Singh in the video while warning him of dire consequences.
It is learnt that the video was shot by another prisoner Kuldeep Singh and it was spread by Gobind Singh’s sister.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case under Section 420 of the IPC and Section 52-A and 42 of the Prison Act (cheating, smuggling of mobile phone in jail and introducing a prohibited article into prison) against Gobind Singh and Kuldeep Singh on the complaint of Jail Superintendent Jaspal Singh.
