PATIALA—Death row convict Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana was today brought to Rajindra Hospital by the Patiala jail authorities to get him undergo X-ray. Bhai Rajoana has been suffering of pain in his knees and the Jail doctor had recommended him to undergo X-ray.
Interacting with media on this occasion, Bhai Rajoana said that the SGPC’s appeal seeking commutation of his capital punishment has been under consideration of Union Home Ministry from the last seven years. He added that the SGPC had remained unsuccessful in forcing the Indian government to take decision on its petition despite having its ally party in power.
It may be recalled here that the SGPC had moved petition before the then Indian Prime Minister seeking commutation of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana’s death sentence to life imprisonment in March-2012.
