CHANDIGARH—On the call of ‘Sikh Vichar Manch’, around 10 Sikh intellectuals and academicians gathered at Kendri Sri Guru Singh Sabha Campus (Chandigarh) to deliberate upon the removal of Sikh history from secondary class syllabi by the Punjab School Education Board. After thorough deliberation on the issue, they demanded the constitution of an expert committee with presence of Sikh historians by PSEB to recast history syllabus for secondary classes.
They adopted a resolution accusing the previous SAD-BJP led Punjab government for beginning process to give saffron touch to Sikh history under the pretext of making PSEB’s history syllabus as per NCERT’s curriculum. They said that the Sikh history was severely pruned, constricted and reshaped to fit in Indian nationalistic framework.
Terming the on-going exchange of statements between SAD leaders and Punjab CM Captain Amaring Singh as senseless, the Sikh intellectuals said that the duo are befooling Sikh masses as the former SAD-BJP led Punjab government had begun this process to change history syllabus and now Captain Amarinder Singh is backing it bluntly.
Sikh Intellectual S. Gurtej Singh IAS, S. Kulbir Singh IAS, Prof. Gurdarshan Singh Dhillon, senior Journalists Karamjit Singh and Jaspal Singh Sidhu, S. Rajinder Singh from Khalsa Panchayat, S. Gurpreet Singh from Kendri Singh Sabha, Akali activist S. Jaswinder Singh Rajpura etc. were present in this assemblage.

When someone wants to kill a community/ religion. First attack is to kill their language They are succeeding in their efforts :they have already replaced the Punjabi language , have anyone heard the language these politicians use in their speeches, Then attack the history and wipe it out which has been going on for some time and now it is in full swing. The attack on Sikh religion is in full swing, They have already started a campaign to place Guru Gobind Singh ji at the same level as a political leader Shiva ji as a desh baghat of India and not as a great Guru of a religion for the universe . Guru Teg Bahadur ji sacrifice for the protection of human rights for all humanity is being projected as rakhshak of Hindu’s only. Now it is becoming more and more wishful thinking if Sikhs even be considered as first rate citizens of India.
These people have no shame, they all need slapping, I also wonder how much backhanders they’re getting from RSS and the Indian government.
They are taking our Punjabi language AWAY FROM US replacing it with Hindi in Punjab now want to change Punjab history.
We should be pushing to teach Punjab history rest of India INSTEAD.
