SRI MUKATSAR SAHIB, Punjab—An unfortunate incident of burning of seven Holy Scriptures of Sri Guru Granth Sahib has again come into light. The incident occurred at village Aulakh of Sri Mukatsar Sahib constituency where seven Holy Scriptures of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were found burnt.
Sikh24 spoke with the Gurdwara Management Committee, which is claiming that the fire originated from a short-circuit in wiring of the Gurdwara Sahib’s sukh-asan (resting) room.
Meanwhile, the SGPC appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh has summoned all the members of Gurdwara Management Committee and appointed Granthi (Priest) at the Supreme Sikh throne on April 17.
Panthik Jathebandis, including the Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) arrived at the site shortly after the incident. General Secretary of Youth Akali Dal Amritsar Navdeep Singh slammed the SGPC for failing to install the CCTV cameras in all Gurdwaras of Punjab. He told Sikh24 that after the sacrilege incident in village Manapura of Bhikhiwind, the Gurdwara Committee had exposed that the SGPC had not facilitated the CCTV cameras for Gurdwara despite numerous requests by the committee head.
Terming the act of summoning Gurdwara Committee members by the SGPC appointed Takht Jathedars as a mere political stunt, S. Navdeep Singh has sought installation of HD CCTV with night vision in all the Gurdwaras of Punjab by SGPC.

There should be set specification for every gurdwara,a separate room for sukh asan, there should be atleast two sevadars in each gurdwara, during the parkash there should be one sevadar present & after sukh asan room should be locked & there should be CCTV cameras in all the gurdwaras. We are not living in that panjab when people used to say “panjab vasda guran de na te”
Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji is our “Sacha Patshah” A judicial system which is controlled by dirty politicians of communal forces which couldn’t give justice to the families of thousands of sikhs, we don’t trust, they will ever give justice to minorities. In 70 years they are not recognizing us “Sikh kaum” different from Hindus. These people are not stopping from mean deeds. SGPC, Sikh jathebandies, & every Sikh should find out the ways to stop these people.

They are acting now why was nothing done to protect our living Guru Ji before. Hardeep is right the public [villagers] spend millions on marriages and protect their homes, why is not Guru Ji being protected by someone being on duty all times and install cameras to catch the culprits. Like other many incidents these culprits will be gone without punishment….. When are we going to wake up to see that Sikhs should always be present with Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Sikhs always remained with all 10 Guru Ji – what is the matter with us now? No wonder we are suffering……
Please Sadh Sangat Ji pay attention and stay with Guru Ji at all times never leave Guru Ji the almighty Lord who is protecting us.
Till the time Guru Granth Sahib ji is not declared the living being in the Punjab High court there will be no law to bring the culprits to noose. And nothing substantial will change . The only change will be that people will start taking it to be just another news if it continues for 3-4 more years. And this will change the belief system of Sikhs largely. Affecting inside Punjab and outside Punjab Sikhs equally.Uttrakhand High court has already declared Ganga and Yamuna as living being and perpetrators if proven guilty will be punished. Shame on SGPC President & other members who are sleeping & doing nothing. You have eleven arab budget & couldn’t istall CCTV cameras. The sikhs of the village who spend lakhs of rupees on marriages, even they can install. If enemy is shaitan, mean & cunning, Sikhs of the village are living with dead souls.
