AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Sikh Intellectual Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar was today unanimously elected as 41st President of SGPC by General House of SGPC members during its first meeting. Prof. Badungar had earlier also served the Supreme Sikh body as a 32nd President from 2001 to 2003. He was then replaced by Avtar Makkar in 2003.
73 years old Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar is renowned for his literary work on Sikh theology. He has authored several tracts and six books on Sikh way of life & culture, including ‘Gurmat Sabhyachar’, ‘Gurmat Vichar’ and Sikhi Jeevan’. The basic Nanakshahi calendar was launched when he became president in 2001. He is a life member of the Punjabi Sahit Akademy.
As per sources, there was some opposition to his name by a few members who had proposed the name of Surjit Singh Kalhapura. But the matter was resolved after Kolhapura withdrew his candidature. However, Kalhapura was included in the 11-member executive body of the SGPC.
The General House of SGPC also elected Amarjit Singh Chawla as a General Secretary who represents the Anandpur Sahib constituency in the SGPC House. Former AISSF leader Amarjit Singh Chawla was once known to be close aide of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in 1980’s. He was arrested from Sri Darbar Sahib during June-1984 attack by the Indian army and remained confined for around seven years at Jodhpur jail. It is alleged that he used to be a key planner in majority of militant actions done by Sikh activists during presence of Great Sikh of Sikh history Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.
The general house elected Baldev Singh as senior vice president while Baba Buddha Singh was named junior vice president. The other members of the executive committee are Jaspal Singh, Nirmal Singh, Kulwant Singh, Balwinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Bibi Joginder Kaur and Ram Singh.
Once again chosen by the Badals – no say from the sikh sangat – we can where this is going to lead us …. dont trust them they are in it all together to act as puppets for Badals who in turn are puppets of the RSS.
Sikhs established SGPC after lot of sacrifices, at this time it is working under the corrupt Badal jundli, whenever it will in good hands it will help the sikh panth grow. Sikhs should elect only those members who are Gursikhs living with sikh principals. Sikhs has to stand above the material gains & think about Sikh panth.
Sacrifices by the masses who were brainwashed by liberal-Marxist “Sikh” intellectuals (backed by the British) who simply used them to push their Christianized, docile ideology of Sikhi by whitewashing our real history.
Nihangs tried to warn everyone at the time, but they were ignored and used as scapegoats just like in 1984.
Now it’s become plain obvious to everyone who are the real traitors of the Panth.
The formation of the SGPC was nothing but a coup d’etat to weaken and control the Khalsa Panth with a faux orthodoxy and a phony Maryada.
SGPC must be abolished Sikhs must learn authentic Sikh history not SGPC propaganda.

SGPC is a fraud and has no legitimacy. The Panth is not going anywhere until we collectively get out of the SGPC mindset of Sikh ideology.
SGPC does not have a Sikh ideology mindset but rather a subservient manmukh ideology where they are getting and looking for Badal patronage for personal financial gain.
‘Elected’ President of the SGPC? ‘Elected’? By whom? I didn’t get a vote as a Sikh. Nor did any other Sikh that I know.
