AJNALA, Punjab—A senior Sikh leader has exposed a large scale financial scam committed by the Akali Dal under the garb of relief camps organized at the Indo-Pak international border.  Speaking with Sikh24, Bhai Baldev Singh Sirsa from Dal Khalsa said that the scam is worth millions and was carried amidst tensed Indo-Pak relations to cash money for upcoming assembly polls of 2017.

Sirsa claimed that the Punjab government evacuated the border adjacent villages upto radius 10 kms and erected temporary relief camps there. He maintained that the relief camps remained empty and not even a single family took asylum there besides relief camp workers.

“I have an official letter written by a District Controller that talks about issuance of sum worth millions to the Punjab Government for these camps,” Sirsa said.  He claimed that the Punjab government has befooled Punjab masses to raise funds for the upcoming assembly polls.

Citing a press statement given by Chief of Border Security Force K.K. Sharma, Sirsa said that the BSF Chief has clarified that no state was ordered to evacuate the border adjacent areas even though the relations between two countries were quite keen bitter.
