1984 Sikh Genocide: Bollywood movie ‘31st October’ set to hit cinema screens on September 7

JALANDHAR, Punjab—A Bollywood movie ‘31st October’ portraying the Sikh genocide of 1984 is going to hit theatre screens across India on September. The movie has been given green signal by the Central Board of Film Certification.  The censor board has sought 9 changes to the movie, which were made before the movie was given a green signal.

Directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil, the movie ‘31st October’ is based on real life story of a Sikh family of Delhi. The Director has claimed of portraying the inhumane atrocities committed by Hindu mobs on Sikhs following the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Interacting with the media in Jalandhar, Director Shivaji Lotan Patil said that the most scenes of movie have been shot in Ludhiana as the appearance of current Delhi has been totally changed as that of 32 years ago.

Actor Soha Ali Khan, who has played role main character in the movie, said that the film was an initiative to apprise the current generation with what happened to Sikhs in Delhi 32 years ago. She informed that she was playing the role of wife of ‘Sardaar Ji’ from whom she has three children. “The movie portrays the tragedy of a Sikh family living innocent life,” she added.

  1. 1st , dis wondeful film is releasing on 7th of oct . 2nd the most poster is also wrong, it’s not to be done and it’s not allowed to give wrong information to public. if you can’t provide right info, kindly don’t spread wrong info. i hope you gonna correct this
