AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Arvind Kejriwal and several senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders today paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib. These leaders arrived here to seek apology from the Sikh masses for an inadvertent and unintentional mistake committed by the party while publishing the Youth Manifesto.
Dressed very simply, Kejriwal went around Sri Harmandir Sahib doing parkarma. He did ardas after standing in line to have darshan of Sri Darbar Sahib. After performing ardas with other AAP leaders, Kejriwal later cleaned utensils at the “Langar Hall” which serves food to over 100,000 people every day. AAP MLA Jarnail Singh and Sucha Singh Chhotepur accompanied Kejriwal the entire time as he performed seva.
Kejriwal said that he had no intention to make this into a big deal. “We purpose chose to apologize early in the morning so we avoid any communication with the media,” he said. However, despite such attempts, Kejriwal waited in Darbar Sahib lineup for almost 45 minutes. “I had come here to offer voluntary service to apologise for the unintentional mistake committed in our youth manifesto. I have peace of mind now.”
A 51-point Youth Manifesto was unveiled by Arvind Kejriwal in Amritsar few days ago which became controversial due to party symbol ‘broom’ superimposed on the photo of Sri Harmandir Sahib.
