Later, some angs (pages) of Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s saroop were found scattered outside the Bargadi Gurdwara Sahib. In total, three FIRs were registered after the beadbi incident under various sections of the Indian Penal Code on charges of theft, hurting religious sentiments of a community and criminal conspiracy.
Similar cases of sacrilege took place throughout Punjab following the incident in Bargadi. Sikh sangat launched protests throughout major cities in Punjab, bringing the state to a complete shutdown for several days.
The CBI is requesting witnesses to provide testimonies so culprits could be identified in the case relating to sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. A public notice issued by the CBI states, “Whomsoever has information relating to the theft and sacrliege of Guru Granth Sahib is requested to contact CBI officers through postal mail or telephone to provide information.”
“Person who provides information leading to the arrest will be awarded Rs. 10,00,000 (10 lakh). Information can also be provided at any nearby CBI branch. Identity of the person providing the information will be kept anonymous,” the public notice states.
Due to the police not being able to make a breakthrough in the beadbi cases, on November 1, 2015, the Punjab Government transferred these cases registered at Bajakhana police station to the CBI for further investigations.
Isn’t this another way of saying we will not/can not find the entities responsible?
