It was stated in the memorandum that inaction by the SGPC and the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib even after 41 days of the incident has hurt the sentiments of Sikh sangat.  Sikh leaders alleged that the SGPC is not serious about maintaining respect of Sri Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

As the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib is on his tour to abroad, the memorandum was received by the Secretary In-charge Sukhdev Singh.  SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar also couldn’t attend the Panthik delegation and the memorandum was received by the SGPC Secretary Roop Singh.
