:dateline:The 2016 Riverside Gatka Tournament is set to take place on April 2 and 3 at Gurdwara Sahib Riverside in Los Angeles, California.� The event takes place annually and has become a popular attraction for Sikhs across California and other parts of the country.
Gatka is the Sikh martial arts which originated at the time of Guru Hargobind Sahib.� During the tournament, Sikh teams from different parts of California complete for the top spot.� The event is organized by Gurdwara Sahib Riverside in collaboration with the California Gatka Dal � an umbrella body of various gatka teams across California.
This year�s event will include a �bir russ� kirtan darbar, along with a talk on importance of Shastar Vidiya.� A special fire and shastar presentation will also take place on Saturday from 7 to 8 PM.
The actual gatka competition will commence at 8 AM on Sunday and continue until 4 PM.� A special presentation on shastars will also be held on Sunday at 10:30 AM.
