LUDHIANA, Punjab—The Dhariwal police have indicted United Akali Dal’s National General Secretary Baba Wassan Singh Zaffarwal in another case under sections 341 (wrongful restraint of person), 117 (abetting of an offence), 120-B (being party to a criminal conspiracy), 288 (obstructing public) of Indian Penal Code and 88 of National Highway Act-1956. It is notable that Baba Wassan Singh Zaffarwal is currently being held at Ludhiana Central Jail.
Baba Wassan Singh Zaffarwal was arrested on November 12 and sent to Gurdaspaur Central Jail following ‘Sarbat Khalsa 2015’.
He was initially held under provisions of preventive measures in order to maintain law & order in the state, but later his name was put in the list of names mentioned in FIR registered against ‘Sarbat Khalsa 2015’ organizers, imposing sedition charges.
