CHANDIGARH, Punjab—A hearing regarding Bapu Ji’s illegal detention and his force feeding by the Punjab government was conducted today in Punjab & Haryana High Court.
Bapu Ji’s son, Bhai Ravinderjeet Singh Gogy informed Sikh24 that during the debate before the appointed Judge on the case, the Punjab Government’s lawyer admitted before the judge that the Punjab government forcefully arrested and force-fed Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa numerous times against his wishes. The Court has deferred the next hearing to December 10.
It is noteworthy that the petition was moved by Bhai Ravinderjeet Singh Gogy at the end of September, following forceful admission and feeding of Bapu Ji PGI Chandigarh.
The court had issued the notice to Punjab government to clarify about the illegal detention and force feeding of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa at the Advanced Cardiac Centre of PGIMER, Chandigarh. Bapu Ji was immediately released by the government from PGIMER in October. But only few days earlier he was again arrested and admitted into DMCH, Ludhiana, ignoring the court’s notice. Currently, Bapu Ji is being given aliquid diet via his nose.
