SGPC Submits Police Complaints Against Akal Takht Jathedar Dhian Singh Mand

Jathedar Dhian Singh:dateline:SGPC have reportedly issued a police complaint against Jathedar Dhian Singh (who was selected�as acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib by the �Sarbat Khalsa�) for instigating religious sentiments and disturbing peaceful environment of Darbar Sahib. It is notable that Jathedar Dhian Singh Mand is already facing sedition charges after addressing a gathering at Akal Takht Sahib.

In the First Information Report (FIR) lodged against Sikh activists, Giani�Partap Singh (Manager, Sri Darbar Sahib) has alleged that the Jathedar Dhian Singh Mand along with his accomplices created a disturbance in the Darbar Sahib Complex by delivering an �illegal� speech and instigated Sikh sangat to protest against the appointed ex-Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh. An FIR under sections 295, 427, 511, 506, 148, 149 of IPC (Indian Penal Code) has been registered against Jathedar Dhian Singh Mand, Bhai Satnam Singh Manava (activist of United Akali Dal), Bhai Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala (General Secretary, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar)) and other unknown activists in Kotwali Police station.

Police Commissioner S. Jatinder Singh Aulakh has confirmed the development and said that police is acting on the case.

Meanwhile, the Police have also arrested Bibi Mandeep Kaur (niece of Jathedar Dhian Singh Mand) who is appointed as a clerk in Sikh reference library. She is being accused of�providing shelter to Jathedar Dhian Singh Mand in the intervening night of November 10 and November 11.
