Yesterday he was presented in the court of local magistrate Shaweta Das by the Punjab police following completion of Police remand that lasted for six days. Being unable to walk, Bhai Rupinder Singh appeared in court on wheel chair. Despite critical pain, he wished for ‘Chardi Kala’ of the Panth.
Finding police’s claims baseless, Justice Shaweta Das sent Bhai Rupinder Singh and his brother Bhai Jaswinder Singh on judicial remand of 14 days.
It is noteworthy that every Jail personnel checks for medical clearance before accepting any accused. On being checked by medical authorities, Bhai Rupinder Singh was found seriously injured with fracture in the backbone and he was sent to PGIMER immediately.
