BREAKING: Congress MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki resigns in protest against Guru’s Sacrilege

KHADUR SAHIB, Punjab—In a significant development, Congress MLA from Khadur Sahib assembly segment Ramanjit Singh Sikki today resigned from his post in protest against grave sacrilege of holy saroops of Guru Granth Sahib in village Baath and other places of Punjab.

Sikki sent his resignation to the speaker of Punjab assembly Chandigarh.

Talking exclusively with Sikh24, Sikki said, “My MLA-ship is worth nothing if my Guru is desecrated. I sacrifice it for my Guru. It is better to resign from the post in present circumstances.”

His close aides told Punjab bureau of Sikh24 that he was upset over desecration of Guru Granth Sahib in Baath village of Tarn Taran district.

Sikki is a prominent Sikh face of Congress party in the state. He defeated Akali Dal Badal leader Ranjit Singh Brahmpura with sizable margin from Khadur Sahib segment which is considered as stronghold of Akali Dal Badal.

  1. Every MLA who has conscience and has few atoms of humanity left should resign from the legislature like Ranjit Singh against the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib perpetuated by Pol Pot of Punjab.
