AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Terming the act of pardoning Gurmeet Ram Rahim worth honouring General Michael O’dwyer (accused of massacring Sikhs in Jallianwala Bagh) with Siropao, Akhand Kirtani Jatha has expressed strong opposition to the Takht Jathedars. Akhand Kirtani Jatha has said that Takht Jathedars have rumbled the customs of Sri Akal Takht Sahib under political pressure.
Spokesperson of Akhand Kirtani Jatha Bhai R.P. Singh has stated that the clean chit to Gurmeet Ram Rahim for wearing attire like Guru Gobind Singh Ji, has proved that not only Sri Akal Takht Sahib instead the five Takhts are under direct control of RSS. He added that BJP-RSS alliance has benefitted the Sirsa cult chief in return of its support during Haryana assembly elections. He maintained that the so called ‘Apology letter’ sent by Gurmeet Ram Rahim doesn’t even contain a single word or synonym of apology, instead he has refuted from his sin.
Questioning over the decision of Five Singh Sahibans, he said that how could they pardon Gurmeet Ram Rahim from Sri Akal Takht Sahib since he is already facing charges of rape and murder in numerous cases. He said that it would be very shameful for Sikhs if Sirsa cult chief gets proved guilty in the cases under trial in Punjab & Haryana High Court. He advocated the call for Sarbat Khalsa to reconsider the decision by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
