Haryana Police arrested accused of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib in Sirsa

Sirsa, India—District Police of Sirsa (Haryana) have arrested the indicted of committing sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in village Bhavdeen of district Sirsa. It is notable that angs No. 603 to 610 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib installed in local Gurdwara Sahib were found torn on September 13 at 2pm.

Observing wrath among Sikh masses during gathering at Gurdwara Sahib, the district administration boosted its probe and arrested the suspected culprit. The offender has been indicted under section 153-A and 195-A of Indian Penal Code. Police have said that the accused committed sacrilege after being asked by Parkash Boria, who is currently declared proclaimed offender by Court in many other cases. Sources have informed ‘Sikh24’ that Parkash Boria’s whole family is declared proclaimed offender.  

Meanwhile, General Secretary of Sikh Youth Front Bhai Papalpreet Singh has strongly condemned the incident. He said that offenders of such sacrilege can’t be considered of any religion because no religion teaches its disciples to disrespect another religion.

Balpreet Singh maintained that Sikhism is only religion in the world that teaches its disciples to worship lessons of humanity instead of worshiping statues. He termed the offenders as anti-humanity elements as the have torn the holy teachings, promoting loving humanity and respect of god.
