Week 35: Bapu Surat Singh Continues Hunger Protest; Sangharsh Committee Announces Key Decisions

BATHINDA, Punjab—While Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa has continued his hunger protest to seek the release of political Sikh prisoners, the Bandi Singhs Rihai Sangharsh Committee has announced to hold one day hunger strike outside all District Headquarters across Punjab.  As per information shared with Sikh24, Jathas of 20-20 Singhs will sit in front of Deputy Commissioner Offices all over Punjab on September 17.

Convener of Bandi Singhs Rihai Sangharsh Committee Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda and General Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal Amristar, Jaskaran Singh Kahansinghwala shared this information in a press conference held at Bathinda. They also announced that ten day Khalsa Marches in favour of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s struggle will also be organized from Sri Akal Takht Sahib to Takht Sri Damdama Sahib and Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib to Sri Akal Takht Sahib via Sri Ananadpur Sahib. They said that dates for marches will be announced after taking all the Panthik bodies into confidence.

Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda said that the struggle for the release of political prisoners was peaceful and it will continue to be. He alleged that Punjab government has committed immense atrocities on peacefully activists.  He added that activists struggling for the struggle of political prisoners are being harassed without reason.

Bhai Parminder Singh Balianwali, Baba Chamkaur Singh Bhai Roopa, Baba Sukhdev Singh Joganand, Bhai Gamdoor Singh Bathinda, Bhai Ramandeep Singh, Bhai Gurmeet Singh Bajoana, Bhai Gurmeet Singh Poohla and Bhai Gursharan Singh  were also present on this occasion.
