Fate of July 21 Vangar March Remains Unknown as Police Deployment Continues at Hassanpur

LUDHIANA, Punjab—The fate of July 21 Vangar March remains unknown as the police deployment has continued at Hassanpur.  Furthermore, Sangarsh Committee members too are behind the bars.

Decision of organizing this procession from Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale’s native village Rode to Hassanpur on July 21 was taken by Committee convener Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, Bhai Ajnala Singh Damdami Taksal, Jasvir Singh Khandur, Manjider Singh Jandi, Surinder Singh Thikriwal and Sikh leaders in view of inaction of Punjab government in case of release of Sikh political prisoners languishing across various jails of India despite completion of their terms.

District administration is making appeal to Sikh organizations to hospitalize Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who is on hunger strike since January 16.  Large police deployment is currently present outside Hassanpur and sangat fears that the police may arrest Bapu Surat Singh at any time.
