Latest Update: Police fails to abduct Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa

LUDHIANA, Punjab—Punjab police today failed to abduct the 82 year old human rights activist who has been sitting on hunger strike since the past 175 days in Ludhiana, Punjab.  A large number of Singhs blocked the gates of the Bapu Ji’s  house and kept the police from entering.

While the police is no longer deployed outside the house, many police officers are seen on roofs of different nearby houses.

Bapu Surat Singh’s condition has improved and he is responsive now, but breathing heavily.

Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa remained in a critical condition today.  Heavy police force has been deployed outside his home and a number of ambulances are also present.

The sangat present inside the house has locked the gates, while the police has cut off the electricity of the house completely.  Singhs are atop the nearby house, and a clash may be eminent.
