CHANDIGARH, Punjab—To ensure tensions don’t escalate further in Lalru (located close to Chandigarh), the local police today registered case under Article 295-A against some persons for tearing posters of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.
Without naming the persons responsible for the act, police stated that strict action would be taken against those who try to disturb peace. It is notable that some radical elements tore a poster of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale to provoke religious sentiments of Sikhs.
S. Bakhshish Singh Bhatti, a local activist, said that some communal elements of society want to create disturbance across society.
