Congress Wants ‘Panth Rattan’ to be Conferred upon Dr. Manmohan Singh

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Senior leader of Punjab Congress Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has written a letter to Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, requesting him to conferred title of “Panth Rattan Fakhar-e-Quam” upon former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh during the 350th anniversary celebrations of Anandpur Sahib.

The Congress leader has also urged Badal to invite the former Prime minister as a chief guest at the function in view his “contribution to the country”.

In the letter, Randhawa insisted that no one would be able to match what Dr Manmohan Singh had contributed for Punjab. “The former PM brightened the name of the Sikh community by having great achievements in different field at the national and international levels”, he added.
