AMRITSAR SAHIB—Similar to past trends around June time, Sikhs are again witnessing alarming activity by the Shiv Sena.
The fanatic Hindu organization has once again announced to oppose the 31st martyrdom anniversary of Ghallughara at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Sikhs feel that Shiv Sena is opposing their plans to commemorate the lives of Shaheeds to purposely stir violence and cause unease in Punjab.
Bhai Balwant Singh Gopala of the Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwale has warned the Shiv Sena. In a statement, he said, “we will not tolerate any type of disrespect of Sikh martyrs by the goons of Shiv sena and they will be answered according to the circumstances.” He advised the Shiv Seniks to remain in their limit otherwise they will “taught a lesson” as per Khalsa traditions.
Senior Vice President of the organization, Bhai Ranjit Singh Sultanwind said that if any radical Sikh organization will dare to burn effigy of Sant Bhindranwale, they will have to face dire consequences. He advised the administration to control Shiv sena from disrespecting Sikh martyrs; otherwise the conditions will go out of control. “We respect all religions but if anyone would try to instigate our religious sentiments by disrespecting our martyrs, they would have to face great loss,” added Bhai Ranjit Singh.
Tension between the Sikh organizations and Shiv Sena are increasing day by day in Punjab. Radical announcements of Shiv Sena have compelled the Sikh masses to come forward to answer their unlawful activities.
