NEW DELHI, India—After expelling four rebel leaders including Parshant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today removed  Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi as its Parliamentary party leader replacing him with Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann.

Dr. Gandhi opposed expulsion of Bhushan and Yadav from national executive of the party during its meeting.  Dr. Gandhi is member of parliament from Patiala segment and he had defeated Captain Amrinder Singh’s wife Preneet Kaur in Lok Sabha polls last year.

AAP leader Ashutosh said that the decision of removing Gandhi from the key post was taken by party’s top decision-making body and it should be respected.

Meanwhile, Bhagwant Mann lashed out at both the rebel leaders saying the two leaders had been sacked for carrying out anti-party activities.

He said he had raised the most questions, participated in most debates and raised concerns about the various bills in the House. He assured that if the party wants to give him more responsibilities, he is ready to shoulder them.

Mann, an MP from Sangrur in Punjab, had openly came in out in support of Kejriwal when the party was experiencing a bitter war between the two camps. The comedian-turned politician is popular among the youngsters. He was the most sought after campaigner in Delhi Assembly polls after Arvind Kejriwal, party sources said.
