Amritsar railway station is always packed with visitors, however it doesn’t provide a good impression of the city as it needs much development work.

While speaking to media persons, Prabhu said that the involvement of the SGPC would boost the development and modernisation of the local railway station.

“Since pilgrims from all over the country and abroad visit the holy city, it is necessary to develop the railway station”, he said.

SGPC Information Officer Gurbachan Singh handed over a memorandum of demands to Prabhu with signatures of the SGPC office bearers.  On the spot, the Union Minister ordered Northern Railway General Manager Ajay Kumar to work with SGPC officials to prepare a blueprint of the project within a month
