Akal Takht Jathedar: Sidelining Sikhi Principles Caused Akali Dal’s Defeat in New Delhi

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Commenting on the defeat of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) in Assembly Elections of Delhi, Giani Gurbachan Singh (appointed Jathedar, Sri Akal Takht Sahib) said that if the Panthik organizations will start ignoring Sikhi principles for the sake of politics, the chances of their success will hinder.

It is noteworthy that Aam Aadmi Party won the Assembly Elections of Delhi by scoring 67 out of 70 seats, while all candidates of Akali Dal (Badal) got defeated on their seats.

Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh said that ignoring Sikhi principles has led to the defeat of Akali Dal in Delhi.

Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh said that during the preachment of elections in Delhi, workers of Akali Dal (Badal) distributed the ‘Kesri’ Caps with the logo of Akali Dal (Badal) printed on it, to its supporters. Jathedar said that Guru Sahib punished the Akali leaders for their doings.

Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh also advised all the Sikh organizations to follow the principles of Sikhism and to remain in the boundaries of these principles. He said that if the Sikh bodies will not follow the principles of Sikhism, then they would have to face the same results as Akali Dal (Badal) had to face.
