Sikh Organizations Demand from Central and State Governments that Movie ‘Messenger of God’ be Banned

2014-12-22- messenger of godCHANDIGARH, Punjab—Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee, Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and All India Sikh Students Federation have raised the demand from the Central and State Governments for the ban of the upcoming movie of Sirsa Cult Chief ‘Messenger of God’.

All of these organizations said that this movie spread hate among the brotherhood of society.  It is worth mentioning that the Sirsa Cult chief is already notoriously known for instigating the religious sentiments of the Sikh community. In May, 2007 he wore the costume resembling the one of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and from then he has continuously hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community by doing different types of activities.

S. Manjit Singh GK of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara  Parbandhik Committee, S. Joga Singh of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhik Comitte and S. Karnail Singh Peermohammad said in different statements that Sirsa Cult Chief represents himself as a ‘Messenger of God’, but he is already accused in numerous rape and murder cases. So, he doesn’t have any right of fooling innocent people by preaching himself as a ‘Messenger of God’.

S. Joga Singh informed that Haryana Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has already appealed to the Sensor Board, Prime Minister of India Sri Narinder Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh that this movie be banned, as it is creating misunderstandings between different social classes.

It is notable that this movie will be released in some states of India during first week of January. Incharge of Cultural Affairs of Punjab, S. Sohan Singh Thandal informed that the Punjab Government is discussing the ban of this movie. He said that the Government is aware about the sensitivity of this issue.
