Over 34,000 People Sign ‘Sikhs are not Hindus’ Petition at Fatehgarh Sahib Shahidi Jor Mela

FATEHGARH SAHIB, Punjab—On the second day of a camp which was organized by the All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) at Farehgarh Sahib Shahidi Jor Mela, more than 34,000 people signed the petition “Sikhs are not Hindus.”

President of the AISSF Karnail Singh stated the camp was organized at the Shahidi Jor Mela on the eve of the martyrdom of the Chote Sahibzade of Siri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and evoked a very encouraging response from the Sikh sangat who lined up to sign the petition. The AISSF said that they really appreciated the people who took the time to sign the petition to protect the distinctiveness of the Sikh community. 

The AISSF chief said that AISSF leaders who helped Sikh sangat to fill out their forms and sign the petition included Jagroop Singh Cheema, Sukhwinder Kaur, Baljit Kaur Faridkot, Harjit Singh Ropar, Gurmukh Singh Sandhu, Inderjit Singh Reethkher.
