Saroop of Guru Granth Sahib Ji Burnt Near Tarn Taran – Sangat Deeply Hurt

TARN TARAN, Punjab—After a clash with the Noormehal cult earlier, local Sikhs of Jodhpur (Tarn Taran) are again deeply hurt by religious attacks.  A saroop of Guru Granth Sahib, along with other religious texts was burned by unidentified persons earlier today.  While there is no evidence of those involved in this heinous crime, some locals have alleged that the incident might have been carried out to increase tensions between Sikhs and the cultists.

This past October, a number of Sikhs, including the head of Damdami Taksal (Ajnala), Bhai Amrik Singh, were left seriously injured after cultists fired upon them.

Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee head Bhai Balbir Singh “Mucchal” was quick to arrive at the Gurdwara Sahib, along with his jatha.  As per the satkar committee, the entire incident seemed fully planned and deliberate.  They have submitted evidence and other information to local authorities and have requested cooperation in bringing the suspects to justice.

The incident is said to have taken place during the later part of the evening.  More details will be shared as they become available.
