Chandigarh: Panel Discussion Held on the 30th Anniversary of Operation Blue Star

akal-takht-in-1984CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Rahul Singh stated in a panel discussion organized on  the 30th anniversary of Operation Blue Star that attacking Sri Darbar Sahib was a big mistake of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and it depicts the failure of Indian Intelligence, the Indian Government and Indian Military.

Robin Singh said that the Sikh genocide organized after the assassination of Indira Gandhi was a result of political pressure and the role of police at that time was also negative. He said that senior leaders of Congress are responsible for this genocide. So, they should be punished.

Chandigarh Literature Festival was organized and inaugurated by the Adab Foundation. Famous writers and critics participated in this festival. A spokesman informed that an in-depth discussion will be performed on 14 selected books in this Festival. The Festival was inaugurated with a panel discussion on ‘30 Years of Sikh Genocide’. Many Questions emerged o from this discussion, such as:

What was the reason for taking this step?

Was there any other way?

Was this Operation pre-planned?

It is noteworthy that many clues have been presented by intellectuals that Operation Blue Star was not necessary, because there were many other ways to sort out this issue.

Rahul Singh, local editor of Hindustan Times Sri Ramesh Vinayak, former officer Robin Gupta, novelist Amandeep Sandhu (who had written a novel on that time), Jagtar Singh (writer) and moderator Nirupama Dutt were present at this panel discussion.
